I travel, I dance, I paint, I cycle.
I experience different landscapes – I paint . . . I move to music – I paint . . . I pedal and observe – I paint
I guess it all comes down to the creativity that rules my life – in activities, in experiences, in relationships . . . in life.
I started my career in interior design and I’ve been fortunate to own and manage a greeting card publishing company, work in various marketing positions and be active as a Pilates trainer.
I lost my entire body of work in the 2017 Tubbs Fire in California. At that time, I had been painting found items from the beaches in the Puget Sound on broken slabs of granite. The slabs remained but the painted images just blew off them after the fire. When I finally got back to the easel, I went BIG! A different perspective of the natural world. Shapes, colors, textures. Nature is art. And I love it. I can dance the paint on!
So, thank you, Mom, for giving me the Cray-pas at age three and playing The NutCracker for me to dance to. Thank you, Dad for your military career that took me around the world to live and experience different cultures and scenery. Thank you, fitness and Pilates for keeping me active all my life (and Mark for planning cycle adventures) so I can age well and continue to create. And my best piece of art is my son, the PhD! But he really created himself ; )
Thank you for viewing my work. I hope these pieces take you somewhere as well. And please feel free to contact me with questions.
